Notifications
Stay on top of your social media activity with Picmim notifications. Choose which events trigger in-app alerts and email summaries, filter and manage your notification inbox, and never miss an important update.
In-App Notifications
Receive real-time alerts inside Picmim for publishing events, team activity, and system updates. The notification bell in the top navigation shows your unread count and opens a full notification panel.
- Click the bell icon in the top navigation bar to view your notification panel.
- Notifications are grouped by type: publishing, comments, approvals, and system.
- Click any notification to navigate directly to the relevant post, comment, or settings page.
- Each notification shows a timestamp and the team member or account involved.
- New notifications appear with a highlighted background. They dim once read.
Email Notifications
Receive email summaries for important events so you stay informed even when you are not logged in to Picmim. Configure which events trigger emails and choose between immediate delivery or daily digests.
- Go to Settings and select Notifications.
- Toggle email notifications on or off for each event type.
- Choose between immediate emails (sent as events happen) or daily digests (one summary email per day).
- Changes take effect immediately.
- Unsubscribe from all emails using the link at the bottom of any notification email.
Notification Types
Picmim sends notifications for several categories of events. Each category can be enabled or disabled independently for both in-app and email channels.
- Publishing: Post published successfully, post failed to publish, post scheduled.
- Approval: Post submitted for review, post approved, changes requested.
- Comments: New comment on a post, reply to your comment, @mention in a comment.
- Team: Member joined workspace, member removed, role changed.
- System: Account disconnected, token expiring soon, storage limit approaching.
Post Lifecycle Notifications
Track every post through its lifecycle with automatic notifications. Know instantly when a post is created, scheduled, published, or if something goes wrong.
- Post Created: Notifies team members when a new post is created (configurable per role).
- Post Scheduled: Confirms the post has been added to the publishing queue.
- Post Published: Confirms the post went live on the selected platforms.
- Post Failed: Alerts you immediately if publishing fails for any reason, with the error details.
- Post Retry: Notifies you when an automatic retry attempt is made for a failed post.
Tip: Keep "Post Failed" notifications enabled for both in-app and email so you can address publishing issues quickly before they affect your content schedule.
Comment and Reply Notifications
Stay engaged with your team's discussions. Get notified when someone comments on a post you are involved with, replies to your comment, or mentions you directly.
- You receive a notification when someone comments on a post you created or are assigned to.
- Replies to your comments trigger a notification so you can continue the conversation.
- @mentions in comments send a direct notification to the mentioned user.
- Click the notification to jump to the exact comment in the post editor.
Approval Notifications
If your workspace uses the approval workflow, notifications keep everyone in the loop about the status of posts under review.
- Editors see a notification when their post is approved or when changes are requested.
- Approvers receive a notification when a new post is submitted for review.
- Both parties are notified when feedback is added to the approval discussion.
- The notification includes a direct link to the post for quick action.
System Notifications
Important system events that require your attention trigger notifications. These include account connection issues, token expirations, and storage warnings.
- Account Disconnected: A social account lost its connection. Re-authorise to fix it.
- Token Expiring: A platform access token will expire soon. Refresh it before it does.
- Storage Limit: Your media library is approaching the storage quota for your plan.
- Plan Limits: You are close to exceeding your monthly post or account limits.
Warning: Do not ignore system notifications. Disconnected accounts prevent publishing, and expired tokens require reconnection before you can post again.
